Dataopedia lists public information about websites

dataopedia.com lists public information about websites

Have you ever wanted a quick way to learn all you can about a website?  A new web services called dataopedia.com makes it easy to view data like web stats, registrar information and links and stories from social networks. Note that the first search for a website seems to be a little sluggish, probably because the site only collects data about sites that are requested. After the first request, the pages seem to load very quick.

dataopedia.com lists traffic information from Quantcast, Compete and Alexa. It lists YouTube videos related to a website, as well as a screenshot and the name of the company that registerd the domain name. Probably the most valuable pieces are the Popularity and Online sections, where it will list references to a website from social networks such as Digg, Delicious and StumbleUpon as well as mentions on FriendFeed and Twitter.

Dataopedia is a very valuable tool, and it’s proving to be a very fun place to spend time finding out what others are saying about different websites. Have you used Dataopedia? How accurate is the content? Do you prefer Quarkbase? Let us know in the comments.

  • Hi! I’ve found another site valuation tool and it seems to provide competitive analysis for free. I'm talking about http://www.estimix.com .The estimation provided by estimix is the result of a complex analysis based on factors like: the age of the website, the demographic structure of the traffic, the countries where the website is popular and sources of the traffic.
